AOL Explorer

AOL Explorer, previously known as AOL Browser is a graphical web browser based on the Microsoft Trident layout engine and was released by AOL. In July 2005, AOL launched AOL Explorer as a free download and as an optional download with AIM version 5.9. AOL Explorer supports tabbed browsing.

Currently, AOL Explorer is available as an independent download or packaged with AIM Triton. When the browser starts up for the first time, it asks whether or not you would like to use it as the default browser and encourages users to display AIM Today content, if installed with AIM. Both of these are optional and can be denied.

AOL Explorer 1.5 was the last recorded version of AOL Explorer. The browser, even though it can still be downloaded, is no longer in development in favor of AOL OpenRide, which is now also being replaced. The screensaver used in AOL Explorer is undergoing a drastic change for the new client and is still in Beta, packed with a beta version of AOL OpenRide, known as AOL OpenRide with AwayView.

SeaMonkey

SeaMonkey is a free, open source, and cross-platform Internet suite that is the continuation of the former Mozilla Application Suite. Based on the same source code as the Mozilla Application Suite, SeaMonkey consists of a web browser, which is a descendant of the Netscape family, an e-mail and news client program, and an HTML editor. The development of SeaMonkey is community-driven, in contrast to the Mozilla Application Suite, which until its last released version (1.7.13) was governed by the Mozilla Foundation. The new project-leading group is the SeaMonkey Council.
On 10 March 2005, the Mozilla Foundation announced that they would not release any further official versions of Mozilla Application Suite beyond 1.7.x, since they are now focused on the standalone applications Firefox and Thunderbird. However, the foundation emphasized that they would still provide infrastructure for community members who wished to continue development. In effect, this means that the suite will still continue to be developed, but now by the SeaMonkey Council instead of the Mozilla Foundation. SeaMonkey 1.0 was released on January 30, 2006.
The SeaMonkey Council, which is the team responsible for project and release management, currently consists of Mark Banner, Christian Biesinger, Karsten Düsterloh, Robert Kaiser, Ian Neal, Neil Rashbrook, and Andrew Schultz.

Mozilla Firefox (abbreviated officially as Fx, but also unofficially as FF) is a web browser descended from the Mozilla Application Suite, managed by the Mozilla Corporation. Firefox (all versions) has 28.79% of the recorded usage share of Web browsers as of April 2008, making it the second-most popular browser in current use worldwide after Internet Explorer
Firefox uses the open source Gecko layout engine, which implements some current Web standards plus a few features which are intended to anticipate likely additions to the standards.
Firefox includes tabbed browsing, a spell checker, incremental find, live bookmarking, a download manager, and an integrated search system that uses the user's desired search engine. Functions can be added through around 2,000 add-ons created by third party developers; the most popular include NoScript (script blocker), FoxyTunes (controls music players), Adblock Plus (ad blocker), StumbleUpon (website discovery), DownThemAll! (download functions) and Web Developer (web tools).
Firefox runs on various versions of Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and many other Unix-like operating systems. Its current stable release is version 2.0.0.14, released on April 16, 2008. Firefox's source code is free software, released under a tri-license GPL/LGPL/MPL.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 2 (Internet Explorer 2.0) was a graphical web browser released in November 1995 by Microsoft for Microsoft Windows(3.1/NT/95) and in April 1996 for Apple Macintosh. Version 2.0 featured support for SSL, cookies, VRML, and Internet newsgroups.

Version 2.0 was also released for the Macintosh and Windows 3.1 in April 1996. Version 2 was also included in Microsoft's Internet Starter Kit for Windows 95 in early 1996, which retailed for 19.99 USD and included how-to book and 30 days of internet accesses on MSN among other features. In addition to being sold in the starter kit, Internet Explorer 2 was the first be included in OSR versions of Windows, was bundled with Windows 95 OSR 1. There were 16-bit and 32-bit versions depending on the OS. Version 2.1 came out for Macintosh in August 1996, the same month 2 was superseded by Microsoft Internet Explorer 3 for Windows, which was heavily changed from 1 and 2. It launched with twelve languages including English but this expanded to 24, 20, and 9 for Win 95, Win 3.1 and Mac respectively by April 1996. The 2.0i version supported double-byte character-set. Version 2 lacked many features that became common in later IE versions, including the Blue 'e' logo, shell integration, bundled programs, difficult uninstall, and having significant market share. During its tenure, IE market share only went up to about roughly 3-9% by mid 1996, before IE3 came out.

Windows Internet Explorer (formerly Microsoft Internet Explorer abbreviated MSIE), commonly abbreviated to IE, is a series of graphical web browsers developed by Microsoft and included as part of the Microsoft Windows line of operating systems starting in 1995. It has been the most widely used web browser since 1999, attaining a peak of about 95% usage share during 2002 and 2003 with IE5 and 6 but steadily declining since, despite the introduction of IE7. Microsoft spent over a 100 million dollars (USD) a year in the late 1990s, with over 1000 people working on IE by 1999.

Internet Explorer was first released as part of the add-on package Plus! for Windows 95. Later versions are available as free downloads and are also included in the OEM service releases of Windows 95 and in later versions of Windows. The most recent release is version 7.0, which is available as a free update for Windows XP with Service Pack 2, and Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 or later, and is included with Windows Vista. An embedded OEM version called Internet Explorer for Windows CE (IE CE) is also available for WinCE based platforms and is currently based on IE6. Another Windows CE/ Windows Mobile browser known as Internet Explorer Mobile is from a different code base and should not be confused with desktop versions of the browser.
