New features of Windows 7 with AppLocker

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

AppLocker will ensure that your PC will only run the programs you specify. It is easier to set up than it sounds. For doing all this, you can create a rule to allow everything signed by a particular publisher and one rule will let you run all signed Microsoft applications. You need to type Launch GPEDIT.MSC and go to Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Application Control Policies > AppLocker to get a feel for how this works.

The much awaited operating system, Windows 7, now provides a standard way to switch your display from one monitor to another, or a projector. For achieving this unique result you have to just press Win+P or run DisplaySwitch.exe and choose your preferred display. To your surprise this will have no effect if you have only one display connected.

The tool provides you a calculator that looks just like Vista’s version, but you will see powerful new Statistics and Programmer views after exploring  the Mode menu. The calculator offers many different unit conversions like length, weight, volume and more.
